Broadcast Commercial Producer

Challenge:

Produce a commercial for broadcast in several markets around Mississippi and Alabama to promote mental health services to those who are not in crisis but could use additional support in order to thrive. The settings should feel local, but needed to be generic enough to be relatable across the Deep South. Also depict actual facilities and convey services.

Responsibilities:

• Create production plan, including narrative and step-by-step project formats.

• Establish budget and negotiate modifications as scope expanded from one actor to several.

• Book videographer.

• Participate in talent selection and serve as production coordinator, communicating with agent and actors.

• Create shot list and incorporate script. Provide direction notes.

• Select locations, wardrobe and other elements of creative direction.

• Create and distribute production schedule for two-day shoot including four locations.

• Co-direct each scene with filmmaker.

• Serve as liaison to client while on set.
